Making its debut on the Formula 1 Calendar in 2004, the Bahrain Grand Prix was the first race to take place in the Middle East and it was given the award for “Best Organised Grand Prix”. Costing USD$150m, the Bahrain International Circuit (also known as “Sakhir”) was built in 16 months and its special characteristic is that it has various layouts for different events. The seating capacity of the circuit is 45,000 people and it has the appeal of an 8-storey VIP tower. It was in 2014 when the race was held at night in order to furnish the spectators with better conditions and to also have a better time slot with TV audiences in Europe. Having become the second Formula 1 night race, the Bahrain Grand Prix has since been held at nights - a Formula 1 night race in the desert.
A circuit that is designed with the spectators in mind, the Bahrain International Circuit is one of the most exciting places to catch the race as they offer great perspectives of the track. For views of the pre-race preparations, the start and podium celebrations, there is no better place than the Main Grandstand. However, if you seek more track action in the form of overtaking, then the University Grandstand is for you. It is located at the first sequence of three corners and has fantastic views of the track where most of the overtaking takes place. For a sight of almost the entire circuit, the Batelco Grandstand has your name on it. It allows you to see all the action from Turn 6 to Turn 12, with a quick glimpse at Turns 3, 4 and 13, 14.
With so many great areas to catch the race from, be sure to choose the right ticket for the Bahrain Grand Prix! There are plenty of offers for you to choose from - the top-tier Paddock Club which guarantees legendary exclusivity, the Main Straight which comes with a view of the start/finish line, pit lane activity and podium celebrations, and finally, all the Grandstands including University, Batelco and Victory. A little something for everyone!
