The Grand Prix of the Americas made its debut on the MotoGP calendar in 2013 at the Circuit of the Americas. The circuit was designed by Herman Tilke and it has corners and twists that reflect the other MotoGP tracks in the world. These exciting combinations of speedy straights and tight curves make this circuit one of the more unique ones as it offers a spectacular time at the tracks. Located in a new state of the art facility, the venue can accommodate up to 120,000 fans - meaning to say you can join other passionate fans in cheering on your favourite teams! Coupled with the city being a vibrant one with a bustling night scene and awesome food, Austin makes it an easy choice for you to catch a MotoGP race.
A hot favourite circuit amongst riders and fans, the Circuit of the Americas has 20 turns in which some of them were an influence from other circuits. This is also one of the few circuits that run counter-clockwise, together with Marina Bay and Yas Marina, and this makes it more difficult for riders as the circuit contained more left-hand turns than others. One of the most challenging parts of the circuit is right from the get go as riders have to climb a gradient of more than 11% to the first turn. This is the highest point of the circuit and it then goes into a series of fast sweepers before navigating through the rest of the bendy circuit.
