Canada’s Gilles-Villeneuve track always reserves a warm welcome to Formula 1, even since 1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve is not driving in the category anymore. Sometimes drivers are welcomed by the “Bienvenue au Québec” wall, especially rookies. A special parenthesis in the calendar in the middle of European races.

Valencia welcomes the European Grand Prix on a street track around its port since 2008, in the same area that welcomed America’s Cup. It’s the second Formula 1 Grand Prix held in Spain after Barcelona, that is the national one, and one of the only four street races of the season.

Motorsport is massive in Germany as it is in the UK. Hockenheim sticks the rule and remains one of the big dates of the Formula 1 calendar. Local fans are pleased to have seen local hero Michael Schumacher back in 2010, and even more to see him in silver now, as Mercedes had built the track for tests back in 1939.

In a bit more than twenty years, Hungaroring became a classic of the Formula 1 calendar. An amazing scenery with Budapest, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, just next to, and a just as amazing crowd coming to the Grand Prix. The track is not very fast, but it’s very physical, which is a real challenge for the drivers in the middle of the summer.

The only Formula 1 Grand Prix by night! And it’s also in town! Very special Grand Prix then, not crossing a tunnel like in Monaco GP, but two bridges. With the heat, Singapore Grand Prix is very physical for drivers who barely not see the difference with daytime races, as the lights are more efficient than on a football stadium.

Suzuka track, built by Honda for cars and motorbikes tests back in 1962, is one of the most amazing circuits of the F1 calendar. It’s among drivers’ top favorite tracks, like a Spa-Francorchamps, a Monaco or a Hungaroring. A theme park is also nearby, that’s why we can see a big wheel in the landscape.

Despite Korea is the fifth producer of road cars worldwide, the country only organized the first Korean Grand Prix back in 2010. The circuit (located 370km away from Seoul) is kind of the biggest stadium in Korea, with 130.000 seats. The main grandstand itself offers capability of 16.000 seats, the whole thing designed with a roof like a traditional Korean house.

If Singapore is a Grand Prix by night, Abu Dhabi is the sunset Grand Prix. The start is day-time and drivers cross the finish line night-time! Yas Marina Island has been developed to welcome this GP, including the now famous Yas Marina Hotel that spans the track and Ferrari World, a Ferrari themed park developed with the Maranello manufacturer.

Formula 1 and United-States are back again together, and after Indianapolis till 2007, it’s Austin, in Texas, that will host the race. The track (anticlockwise) has been designed and built to welcome Grand Prix of Americas in Wandering Creek.

Since Emerson Fittipaldi back in the 70’s and then of course Ayrton Senna by the 80’s, Brazil has always had a huge interest into Formula 1, and showed effervescence for their Brazilian Grand Prix. Almost as much as into football! Interlagos is a track surrounded by houses and buildings, as the city has been growing fast after track’s construction.
